What is a Ductless Heat Pump?
Ductless heat pumps are units that transfer heating or cooling, as opposed to creating heating or cooling. Nowadays, ductless heat pumps are used to both heat and cool homes. Mitsubishi Ductless units installed by Northeast Ductless can operate effectively down to -13 degrees!
How much does a ductless ac system cost?
It is always very difficult to give a general estimate. There are many variables to determine before we can price a system that will suit your needs. The costs associated with ductless systems are typically less expensive than traditional heating and cooling systems, and they are much more efficient. Why not contact us to setup an appointment for an estimate.

What is Duct Loss?
What is Duct Loss?
Duct Loss is an expression used to describe the amount of heating or cooling lost while hot air or cool air is traveling from it's source to it's destination. Traditional HVAC systems create heated and cooled air and then push it through ductwork inside your attic or between floor joists. The ductwork that the air conditioning flows through can have holes, bad seams or even be uninsulated which causes the area it's in to affect the temperature of the air traveling through it. This loss can account for 30% of the systems heating or cooling being lost. This inefficiency does not occur with ductless systems!
What are Ductless Heat Pumps?
Even cold air contains some heat, and with Mitsubishi Electric's renewable heat pump technology, this heat can be captured and transferred into a home by means of a circulating refrigerant that is alternately expanded and compressed. To keep this process going when the temperature falls below freezing, Mitsubishi Electric developed an original refrigerant circulation system called a Flash Injection Circuit. This circuit ensures a larger volume refrigerant is flowing, even in sub-zero temperatures, making heat pumps an viable option in some of the world's cold regions.
